The club holds regular events throughout the year, including championships, gradings and social events. There are also events organised by the Cumbria and the Borders area of the British Judo Council that the club takes part in.

2011

Hall Unavailable: 7th October As part of our agreement with the Parish Hall, other groups may make use of the hall on the odd occasion throughout the year, and so there will be no judo this night.

Club Grading: Friday 4th November As usual, a valid licence is required, there is a £5 grading fee, and to do well, students are expected to train and study hard, with good attendance.

New Members: Friday 11th November Anyone interested in taking up judo should come down to the club before the 11th to see what we do. They can then pick up a membership pack and order their judo suit so that they can get started with no delay on the 11th. As we have done in the past, we offer a package deal for new members that includes a three-month provisional licence, all lessons while that licence is valid, and a basic judo suit. The cost is still £35 for juniors and £40 for seniors. It was agreed at the club AGM that we should follow Akinori Hosaka's suggestion that children should be 7 years an upwards.

Christmas Championship: Friday 16th December Our friendly championship, open to all club members.

Medal presentation and party: Saturday 17th December Our end-of-the-year celebration, with presentations, music, party games, and quiz. You'll also find nibbles and some drinks, so please come down and join in the fun before we break up for Christmas.
